U.S. conducting strikes against Taliban

U.S. officers proceed to conduct strikes towards Taliban forces even as they proceed negotiations coupled to a drawdown of the range of troops in Afghanistan.

On Thursday, U.S. forces released an attack on what they stated were “armed Taliban fighters” who were being shelling an Afghan Nationwide Protection and Protection Forces (ANDSF) checkpoint found in the Zhari district of Kandahar.

“This strike in defense of the Afghan Countrywide Protection and Stability Forces is in accordance with the US-Taliban settlement,” Army Col. Sonny Leggett, a spokesman for U.S. Forces in Afghanistan, mentioned Friday in a Twitter message.

Col. Legett denied allegations from the Taliban that innocent civilians had been qualified. “The Taliban‘s claim of civilian casualties [is] untrue,” he reported.

Military Gen. Mark Milley, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Employees, mentioned the U.S. would be lowering the variety of U.S. troops in Afghanistan to 2,500 next month.
