SAXON’s Biff Byford: “New Handles Album ‘Inspirations’ was recorded in 17 days, it’s a incredibly are living album”

Canada’s The Steel Voice recently spoke to Saxon’s frontman Biff Byford about the bands approaching Handles album ‘Inspirations’ which will be released on March 19 2021 via Silver Lining audio.

Explain to us about the song selections for ‘Inspirations’
“I asked the band to decide on two songs, so we created a list of songs. Some of them have been truly bizarre so we didn’t trouble. I picked about five of the tracks but keep in mind we had additional music on the list than recorded. I waited right up until we ended up truly playing them live to see what they sounded like, some music didn’t transpose. I wished a track from (Black) Sabbath (Deep) Purple and (Led ) Zeppelin. I imagine my voice definitely gives it a different angle in any case. Continue to keep it simple but with a effective overall performance. For instance the music ‘Speed King’ we performed it quicker than Deep Purple, just because we can.”

How extended did it take to file the album and was the album put out to bridge the gap for the new studio album
“We recorded the whole album in about 17 times, it is a pretty stay album. I don’t feel there have been any overdubs on it, it’s extremely are living. It was done in a big house in a big room like the old n times and it was just excellent enjoyable. I’m also performing an album with my son Sebastian, we have published some songs collectively and we will be executing that very speedily. Our films on Youtube are rather common.
