Priti Pratap Singh opens the doors to her Delhi home, where memories and histories intertwine

Priti Singh’s drawing place is also her clearly show home. Out of two tall glass-fronted cabinets of her personal layout spill forth her kaleidoscopic wares as visitors take in the atmospheric melange of wall hangings, fragments of statuary, artwork books, and memorabilia permeated with the scent of summertime lilies, tuberoses, and greenery from her lovingly tended yard. Whimsical individual touches abound: For illustration, in the vicinity of the hearth is a poignantly framed pair of woven crimson gloves that have been presented to her by her father for childhood using classes.

More than the several years she has amended the 3-bed room flat on the floor flooring that she shares with her two daughters—one operates an NGO in healthcare, the other is a lawyer—to suit modern-day living with no compromising its period of time architectural functions. “The cavernous rooms were being gloomy and the format impractical. I transformed the aged kitchen into a dining home, relocating the new kitchen area powering the living space. I also punched in skylights, and mirrored redundant doorways, to develop light and house.”

She is a natural raconteur, with a spirited humour that is at as soon as candid and infectious. When possible potential buyers pay a visit to, Priti Singh suggests she has enjoyment mentally deciding what they will select. She’s generally suitable. And when they talk to about the property and its glittering contents, her storytelling begins. Not astonishingly, not many leave empty-handed.
