Terrifying CCTV images have been produced of a gang of thugs armed with an axe and a sledge hammer as they robbed a shop.

3 adult men masked in balaclavas and dark clothes burst into a store in Leigh at close to 7am on Sunday.

Armed with an axe and sledge hammer, the gang threatened the staff of One particular Cease Shop on Chestnut Travel South.

The thugs pushed 1 staff member to the flooring in advance of attempting to break into the tills.

A different store worker – a male in his 50s – bravely challenged just one of the robbers.

The robber then attacked him with the axe and left the shop worker needing clinic treatment method.

The thugs then escaped with dollars from the store and are considered to have fled in an unidentified car, say police.
