The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Workplace say they’re investigating an automobile theft turned shooting around the intersection of Merrill Rd. and Cesery Blvd.

Law enforcement say a car or truck was reported stolen early Wednesday morning from the 3200 block of Justina Rd.

Shortly just after, a relatives member of the stolen automobiles owner informed police they observed the similar automobile remaining driven on Merrill Rd. Law enforcement say the loved ones member then tried, unsuccessfully, to get the suspect to pull around.

In accordance to witnesses at the scene, the suspect then crashed the stolen auto while trying to travel absent. The suspect then began shooting at the victim’s spouse and children member, which law enforcement say the family member returned, as the suspect tried out to escape on foot.

Investigators say a look for of the area was unsuccessful in locating the suspect, but do not think any individual was hurt in the crossfire.
