‘Humbug’ lights 72 flats at his senior residence to honor late wife who liked Christmas

Darwin Bonn is fast to acknowledge, for most of his 58-year relationship he was “a humbug.”

A humbug married to Mrs. Christmas.

“Oh, she went nuts for Christmas,” the 88-calendar year-previous states.

“October, ‘Dad, get the lights on the dwelling,’ Darwin recollects his spouse Rosie telling him.

“Yeah, yeah, we’ll do that,” Darwin would assure her. “November, ‘Dad, dad,’ she’s ragging on me.”

Now Rosie, who handed absent 10 a long time back, is getting her desire – and then some.

This Xmas, Darwin has lit up the exteriors of all 72 flats at Chateau Waters in Sartell, his senior dwelling.

“See babe, it’s accomplished,” Darwin suggests hunting skyward. “I took 60 several years, but I finally received it accomplished on time.”
