PHILADELPHIA – Customs officers have abruptly ended the journey of an electric motor vehicle that was shipped here from China.
The automobile, a 2020 Lianke LK4600D, was seized right after authorities established it did not fulfill federal safety requirements, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The modest crimson vehicle, which was outfitted with a rooftop solar panel, is valued at $1,900, the company explained in a statement Thursday.
It was seized Dec. 8, after a review that started weeks earlier, the statement stated.
