Flat Rat: A Slammed1950 Ford COE Firetruck On Air

I know, I know, I reported I’d submit more of this 1950 Ford COE just about a week ago. My undesirable, I got a tiny distracted. I’ll reveal why before long. But, take these extra images of my penance.

This truck, acknowledged as the Flat Rat hails from Keswick Ontario and was constructed by it’s proprietor Scott Badger (@keswickscott).

Scott has owned the truck cab about 10 a long time now. Factors definitely acquired going on the truck about 5 yrs in the past, with substantial progress being designed during the pandemic.

From behind the tilt taxi to exactly where the tailor made 4-link starts off is most of a widened Chevy 3500 chassis. Ahead of the entrance wheels is generally manufacturing facility Ford with signficant modifications performed to make the steering get the job done at the truck’s new height.

The motor is a 7.3L Powerstroke with a T4 turbo upgrade backed by an automatic transmission.

Scott managed to hold as significantly first as he could, but he did have to swap a little bit of sheet metal below and on the taxi. The new additions ended up sprayed by Scott in either white or red.

Scott and his son also built all 11 toes of the bed from scratch.

Nothing more than an English wheel and a Princess Car bead roller was utilised in the bed construction.

In actuality, the whole truck was built in a fairly humble residence garage. Proving once all over again that where there’s a will there’s a way when it will come to do-it-oneself fabrication. One thing that absolutely provided a bit of determination for my personal challenge.

The tailgate of the truck is in fact a second COE front end that has been modified to build a tailgate. Scott filled the grill, built it hinge and took the Tremendous Duty embossing from a late product ford.

“If this is not Super Obligation I really do not know what is,” Scott reported.

For the eagle-eyed, certainly the tail lights are rotated versions from a 65 Ford Mustang, Really clever if you check with me.

Clearly, this truck is incredibly considerably up my alley and I hope to see a lot more of it all over again soon.

Ontario is back jamming all over again and I’m absolutely in this article for it!
