MOSCOW (Reuters) – A device of Belarus’s new Astravets nuclear power plant was taken offline on Saturday during tests procedures after the reactor security system was triggered, the Belarus electrical power ministry explained.
It stated radiation stages in the spot were regular.
“The protection procedure was activated for the duration of the pilot industrial operation of Device 1, as part of which the devices and machines are now currently being analyzed. Radiation track record in close proximity to the plant is usual,” the ministry’s statement stated.
The plant, found in northern Belarus, was beforehand taken offline soon following getting formally inaugurated on Nov. 7 by President Alexander Lukashenko.
