Daimler and Geely to jointly acquire hybrids | Automotive Business Information

A new joint enterprise among their dad or mum corporations will see Mercedes-Benz and Volvo Vehicles sharing hybrid powertrains.

Daimler and Geely Holding on Friday announced ideas to “collaborate on building highly productive powertrain methods for up coming generation hybrid auto programs”.

The cooperation is expected to see the pair work together on hybrid powertrains to “greatly enhance their world wide competitiveness and make accurate economies of scale”. Parts of probable cooperation contain engineering, sourcing, ‘industrialisation’ and effectiveness actions.  

Both equally groups stated they observed successful drivetrain technologies as central to the ongoing transformation of the automotive sector, and will accelerate the changeover to emission free driving.
