Chris Cornell’s family have announced the shock launch of his final album, recorded a calendar year ahead of the former Soundgarden singer died in 2017.
No One particular Sings Like You Anymore features handles of tunes by Prince, John Lennon and Harry Nilsson.
The possibilities give “a personal look into his favourite artists and the songs that touched him”, Cornell’s widow Vicky reported in a statement.
Cornell, 52, was found dead in a lodge room. His dying was dominated a suicide.
He was most famous as the lead singer of Seattle band Soundgarden, who formed in 1984 and went on to earn Grammy Awards for their singles Black Gap Sunshine and Spoonman.
As a solo artist, he unveiled four studio albums and scored a hit in 2006 with You Know My Identify – the topic to Daniel Craig’s initially Bond movie, Casino Royale.
No A single Sings Like You Anymore was recorded in 2016 with producer Brendan O’Brien, who combined Soundgarden’s best-selling album Superunknown and has produced albums for Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen and AC/DC.
Cornell performed all the devices, masking tracks like Prince’s Absolutely nothing Compares 2U, the Electric Gentle Orchestra’s Showdown and John Lennon’s Watching The Wheels.
It also contains Cornell’s a bluesy rendition of Lorraine Ellison’s Stay With Me Infant, which was previously highlighted on the HBO series Vinyl, and a shifting cover of Guns N’ Roses’ Persistence, which was unveiled in July.
“This album is so specific since it is a comprehensive do the job of artwork that Chris established from start to finish,” said Vicky Cornell. “He could not hold out to release it.
“This instant is bittersweet for the reason that he really should be listed here performing it himself, but it is with the two heartache and pleasure that we share this particular album.
“All of us could use his voice to help heal and elevate us this calendar year, specifically in the course of the holiday getaway year.

The album strike streaming companies on Friday, whilst a bodily version will be available in March 2021.
