Right after swapping the streets of London for lifestyle in the countryside 10 decades back, with her partner, Willie McDougall, and their 3 girls – twins Olive and Flo, 12, and Betty, 11 – Anna has gradually transformed this area from austere, 22-bed room monastic retreat to fashionable 5-bedroom household house.

‘The sheer scale of the 790-sq.-metre assets intended taking our time to finesse the internal layout and to thoughtfully source,’ she clarifies. ‘It gave me the flexibility to think about and make.’

Throughout the home, off-white backdrops are complemented by a handful of thought of pieces. There’s the covetable parquet floors reclaimed from the old MI5 making in London, 400-12 months-aged thick stone fireplaces from a vendor in France, Italian travertine tables and mid-century modern lighting, as well as summary artwork and significant antique textiles.

It’s a colour scheme that lends alone to Xmas, but Anna’s exact same minimum aesthetic applies to the festive time. Think oversized branches of fir, a handmade wreath and waxed brown paper parcels, concluded with rustic string – simple, foraged, pure, recyclable.
